"15th Five-Year Plan" Tech Initiatives Launch Successfully | Kick-off Conference Held for Industrial-Financial Platform's "Tech+" Collaboration System and Enterprise-Wide AI Cornerstone Project

On January 12, the Industrial-Financial Platform convened a launch meeting to establish the "Technology+" collaborative development system and initiate the company-wide AI Cornerstone Project. The session was guided by the strategic directives of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee on accelerating high-level self-reliance and self-strengthening in science and technology. It also aligned with COSCO SHIPPING Group's technological innovation requirements, serving as a comprehensive deployment to consolidate consensus on innovation, pool technological resources, and accelerate the company's innovative development in preparation for the "15th Five-Year Plan."

Closely following the COSCO SHIPPING Group's vision of building a world-class shipping technology enterprise, the Industrial-Financial Platform is committed to accelerating the development of new, high-quality productive forces in shipping finance. Guided by the principles of intelligent, green, and integrated development, the platform will establish a "Technology+" collaborative development system, create an open and synergistic innovation ecosystem, and foster an agile organizational structure. Focusing on three key initiatives—"Technology + Manufacturing," "Technology + Operations," and "Technology + Finance"—and with the company-wide AI project as its cornerstone, the platform aims to collectively advance the intelligent transformation of shipping and industrial finance.

General Manager Wang Kunhui elaborated on the strategic positioning, planning framework, and implementation pathways of the "Technology+" collaborative development system tailored for the industrial-financial platform. The "Technology+" collaborative development system is divided into nine specialized groups in its first phase, encompassing intelligent manufacturing and full-chain green ecology. It establishes a "semi-flexible" organization for all employees and relevant stakeholders across the industrial chain, creating a "Technology+" innovation ecosystem characterized by comprehensive participation, cross-sectoral collaboration, and full-chain synergy. This approach leverages projects to aggregate resources and employs real-world scenarios to attract and cultivate talent.

The company's Science and Technology Innovation and Digital Transformation Department, along with COSCO SHIPPING Technology, introduced the AI blueprint for the "15th Five-Year Plan" of the industrial-financial platform and the progression plan for the company-wide AI initiative. The All-Staff AI initiative, serving as the foundational project of the "Technology+" collaborative development system, is segmented into four phases: training, scenario exploration and guided practice, competitions, and project incubation. It aims to comprehensively enhance employees' AI application proficiencies, foster an internal culture of innovation and entrepreneurship, drive the company's digital and intelligent transformation, and build a smart industrial-financial platform.

Chairman Zhang Mingwen outlined the company's innovation-driven development trajectory and the implementation of the "Technology+" system. The industrial-financial platform will augment its core functions of "industry-finance-investment" through technological innovation, boost its core competitiveness, and endeavor to become the Group's new force in technological innovation, a new hub for intelligent manufacturing, a digital-intelligent connector, a green leader, and a new benchmark for ecosystems during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period. It will adhere to systematic planning to build a scientific and technological innovation system that aligns with new quality productive forces; establish a "Technology+" system to promote the deep integration of technological innovation and industrial innovation; reinforce innovation-driven development by empowering high-quality industrial growth with artificial intelligence; and implement the "investment in people" concept to establish and improve a support system for scientific and technological talent.

Leaders and distinguished guests from COSCO SHIPPING Group's Human Resources Department/Organization Department, Digital Transformation Department, COSCO SHIPPING Technology, COSCO SHIPPING Shipping Advanced Technology Research Institute, as well as industry-academia collaboration partners such as Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Tongji University, attended the meeting and offered their guidance. Approximately 300 employee representatives from the company's headquarters, subsidiaries, and frontline container factories participated via both in-person and video conferencing. The kick-off meeting has injected strong momentum into the innovation-driven development of new-quality productive forces in shipping industry-finance for the industry-finance platform during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period.
