On June 30, COSCO SHIPPING Development announced that one of its subsidiaries plans to acquire 24 dry bulk vessels, including 20 multipurpose grain carriers (87,000 DWT), 2 bulk carriers (210,000 DWT), and 2 dry cargo carriers (210,000 DWT). Upon delivery, all vessels will be placed under long-term lease agreements. This investment in vessel acquisition, construction, and leasing will further strengthen the company's shipping leasing business with high-quality assets while marking a strong start to its high-quality development strategy for the 15th Five-Year Plan period.

Building a Smarter, Greener Fleet
As an industry-finance operator with deep roots in the shipping sector, COSCO SHIPPING Development leverages its integrated industry expertise to meet the evolving needs of the maritime market while supporting the industry's transition toward greener and lower-carbon operations. The four 210,000 DWT vessels included in the project are designed to accommodate dual clean-fuel capabilities using methanol and ammonia, positioning them to meet future environmental requirements. By expanding a portfolio of green, intelligent, and diversified vessel assets, the company will further strengthen its asset base, enhance its specialized service capabilities, and create greater value throughout the shipping industry ecosystem.
Strengthening Industry-Finance Collaboration
In recent years, COSCO SHIPPING Development has continued to deepen the integration of shipping and financial services. To date, the company has successfully launched construction and leasing projects covering more than 90 vessels of various types, with deliveries scheduled between 2026 and 2030. The addition of these vessels is expected to generate stable long-term revenue and cash flow, providing sustainable value for shareholders while strengthening the company's resilience across market cycles. Beyond providing high-quality vessel leasing services, the company continues to expand innovative business models by working closely with industry partners to broaden the use of the Renminbi (RMB) across the shipbuilding, leasing, and shipping value chain. At the same time, the company develops customized financing solutions for individual projects, combining sound capital structures with diversified financing channels to support long-term financial stability and sustainable profitability.
