On August 18, a press conference and certificate-awarding ceremony marking the registration of more than 100 vessels under the “Yangpu Port of China” registry was held in Yangpu, Danzhou, Hainan, under the theme “A Hundred Ships Power the Free Trade Port, Setting Sail on a New Journey.” Wang Kunhui, Director, General Manager, and Deputy Party Secretary of COSCO SHIPPING Development, and Cai Lei, Director and General Manager of Hainan COSCO SHIPPING Development Co., Ltd., attended the event, where COSCO SHIPPING Development delivered remarks as an enterprise representative.

How Did COSCO SHIPPING Development Contribute to This Milestone?

On August 14, the 80,000 DWT multipurpose grain carrier “GUO XIN HAI,” invested in and built by COSCO SHIPPING Development, was successfully named and delivered. The vessel became the 100th vessel registered under the “Yangpu Port of China” registry and the seventh newly built vessel registered there by the Company this year. Previously, four multipurpose pulp carriers invested in and built by the Company had also been registered under the “Yangpu Port of China” registry.

In recent years, COSCO SHIPPING Development has actively supported the development of the Hainan Free Trade Port, leveraging its strengths in shipping industry-finance integration and coordinating resources across the full industrial chain—from shipbuilding and leasing to operations and financing. This approach has driven investment, construction, and leasing projects involving more than 100 vessels across a diverse range of vessel types. Since the beginning of this year, these industry-finance projects have entered a concentrated phase of delivery and operations, steadily generating economic benefits and creating new momentum for growth.
