Recently, Shanghai Universal, a subsidiary of COSCO SHIPPING Development, partnered with COMAC to develop two types of specialized container-based structures designed for different use scenarios. Ingeniously utilizing a 40-square-meter space, the project unlocks applications across two distinct scenarios.

Scenario 1: "Container Convenience Store" Serving Rural Areas

As fellow centrally state-owned enterprises, both parties share a common mission. COSCO SHIPPING Development has transformed shipping containers into convenience stores, supporting COMAC in fulfilling its rural revitalization and targeted poverty alleviation initiatives. In remote areas with limited commercial infrastructure, these clean and well-lit container stores provide residents with convenient access to daily necessities close to home, extending essential services to the "last mile." A single community convenience container has become a mobile lifeline, reflecting the enterprises’ commitment to serving society and addressing grassroots needs.

Scenario 2: "Employee Lounge" Supporting Frontline Workers

Stepping into the lounge thoughtfully designed for COMAC’s frontline employees, warm wood finishes, upholstered seating, soft lighting, and greenery create a comfortable, home-like atmosphere. Amenities such as a tea station, USB fast-charging ports, storage lockers, and fresh air ventilation are fully equipped, offering a quiet and comfortable space for rest—even in challenging environments such as grasslands and high-altitude regions. A durable exterior paired with a carefully designed interior transforms every square meter into a restorative space for dedicated workers.
