On April 28, the 62,000 DWT multipurpose heavy-lift vessel "Copernicus", jointly developed by COSCO SHIPPING Development and Chinese-Polish Joint Stock Shipping Company (hereinafter referred to as "Chipolbrok"), was successfully delivered at Taizhou Kouan Shipyard in Jiangsu Province. With this, both vessels of the Chipolbrok heavy lift ship project—"De An" and "Copernicus"—have been fully put into operation. The twin stars are now assembled, providing solid maritime support for the development of China-Poland trade with their brand-new carrying capacity, and injecting strong momentum into the friendship vessel between the two countries sailing at full speed ahead. This series of heavy-lift vessels boasts world-leading deadweight tonnage, with a length of 199.85 meters and a width of 32.26 meters. Equipped with four heavy-lift cranes, their combined maximum lifting capacity reaches 300 tons, enabling flexible loading of oversized cargo such as wind power equipment, construction machinery, and large modules. With exceptional cargo adaptability and scale advantages for transporting project materials, they have become exemplary models in the global multipurpose shipping market. At the same time, the vessel design fully incorporates green and low-carbon concepts, demonstrating outstanding performance in energy conservation, emission reduction, and green operations. The vessel will subsequently be deployed on global routes, primarily transporting various large-scale equipment and actively serving projects along the Belt and Road Initiative. The successful delivery of the "Copernicus" marks a significant milestone in the deepened cooperation between COSCO SHIPPING Development and Chipolbrok within the shipping industry chain, while also adding a new fulcrum for the diversified development of the company's vessel leasing business. In the future, COSCO SHIPPING Development will continue to focus on the demands of shipping industry-finance integration, expand the business areas of industry-finance synergy, and collaborate with all parties in the industrial chain to achieve mutual benefit and win-win outcomes. It will contribute the "COSCO SHIPPING Development Strength" to promoting the high-quality development of the shipping industry.
