On the morning of August 26, Liu Shanghai, Executive Vice President of the China Shipowners' Association, and his delegation visited COSCO SHIPPING Development. Zhang Mingwen, the Chairman, Party Secretary, and General Manager of the company, warmly received the delegation and held a meeting for discussions.
At the meeting, Chairman Zhang Mingwen introduced the company's operational developments in recent years, which have deepened the integration of industry and finance, leveraged finance to boost industry, and continuously enhanced the core functions of "industry-finance-investment." Executive Vice President Liu Shanghai provided an overview of the recent key initiatives undertaken by the China Shipowners' Association, and engaged in in-depth discussions on the preparation for the establishment of the Shipping Finance Specialized Committee under the association, along with other industry-related topics of interest.
Both parties agreed that the establishment of the Shipping Finance Specialized Committee by the China Shipowners' Association will help build a platform for industry exchange and resource integration, promote the deep integration of shipping and finance, and better serve the high-quality development of China's shipping industry. Meanwhile, in response to challenges such as the green transition and digitalization trends in the shipping industry, as well as fluctuations in the international market, both parties expressed their commitment to enhancing communication and collaboration. By closely aligning with industry trends, they aim to jointly promote the healthy and sustainable development of shipping finance.
