December 20 China COSCO SHIPPING Group's First “‘Ship’Embracing Innovation,Sailing Towards
the Future ” Science and Technology Innovation Competition Final and Awarding Ceremony Successfully held at the Group's headquarters
In order to deeply study the
important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping on science and
technology innovation and further implement the spirit of the Third Plenary
Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, the Group organized the First“‘Ship’Embracing Innovation,Sailing Towards the
Future ”Science and Technology Innovation Competition,
aiming at stimulating the enthusiasm for innovation among the staff and
cultivating and discovering outstanding young talents, enriching the form of
talent cultivation and incentive with the characteristics of COSCO SHIPPING,
shaping the excellent enterprise culture, enhancing the core competitiveness of
the enterprise, and providing new impetus for the construction of a world-class
shipping science and technology enterprise. Jointly organized by the Group's Sci-tech
Innovation Department, Digitalization Department and the Group Youth League
Committee, the Competition focused on the two major avenues of ‘Digital
Intelligence’ and ‘Green and Low-Carbon’, and lasted for six months, with 168 projects competing for the competition. After
the declaration and selection process and evaluation by internal and external
experts, 24 projects finally advanced to the final round, among which 3 projects of COSCO SHIPPING
Development were selected as finalists. YAN Xinping, Chief Scientist of the
Group, inducted academician of the Group's Academician Service Centre and
academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, SHI Xin, Vice President and Professor of Shanghai Maritime
University, ZHAO Yan, Vice President of China
Classification Society, HE Fang, Deputy Head of the Department of Industrial
Engineering of Tsinghua University and long-time Associate Professor of the
Department of Industrial Engineering of Tsinghua University, YANG Genke,
long-time Professor of the Department of Automation of Shanghai Jiao Tong
University and Director of Ningbo Artificial Intelligence Research Institute, and
Researcher of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence Innovation and Industry
of Fudan University, Li Hao, Vice President of Shanghai Institute of Scientific
Intelligence, Han Dong, Professor and Deputy Director of New Energy Power
Research Institute, School of Mechanical and Power Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong
University, TANG Chao, Director of the Artificial Intelligence Institute of
China Electronics Data Science and Intelligent Engineering Research Institute, and
CHEN Yangfan, Deputy General Manager of the Group and member of Group's Party
Group, served as judges of the competition. In the final round, the main person
in charge of the project reported and defended on the stage, and the evaluation
experts gave comprehensive scores on the dimensions of innovation, advancement,
applicability and presentation of the project, and finally assessed the award
levels. Through layers of screening and
on-site evaluation, the three participating projects of COSCO SHIPPING
Development achieved good results. The application demonstration
research of large-scale pure electric-powered container ships ofCOSCO SHIPPING Development Co.,
Ltd. won the second prize, and the Container Carbon Footprint and Environmental Product
Declaration platform of Shanghai Universal Logistics Equipment Co., Ltd. (CFP&EPD)won the third prize, the Container Industry Chain
Collaboration Platform of Florens International Co., Ltd. won the Excellence Award.
At present, the rapid development of
a new round of technological revolution is shaping new momentum and new
