The Tianjin International Shipping Industry Expo 2024 (referred to as the “TISIE”) was held in Tianjin from July 10 to 13. With the theme of “Shipping to the World and Navigating towards the Future—Facilitating Domestic and International Dual Circulation”, the exposition invited more than 500 enterprises in the upper and lower reaches of the shipping and ancillary industry chain to participate, including the Fortune Global 500, listed companies and industry leaders, being the “bellwether” of the global shipping industry development.

COSCO SHIPPING Group organized six of its subsidiaries to participate in the exposition, demonstrating the latest practices and outstanding achievements of COSCO SHIPPING Group in recent years in the areas of digital intelligence, green and low-carbon, leading the direction of future development of the global shipping industry, building an integrated service system of “shipping + port + logistics”, assisting the construction of international shipping hub of northern China and the synergistic development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

The Yangtze River Mainline 700TEU Electric Container Vessels Project of COSCO SHIPPING Development was displayed in the exhibition area of COSCO SHIPPING Group, which attracted much attention at the exposition. The vessel is designed, developed and built by China with independent intellectual property rights, and is the largest purely electric-powered vessel ever built. As a landing project of new technologies and applications in the shipping industry, it was recognized by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council on the list of “Top 10 National Pillars of Central Enterprises in 2023” (2023年中央企业十大国之重器).

At the same time, the Company demonstrated its latest achievements in “boosting digital intelligence integration and fulfilling the dual-carbon goals” in recent years: promoting industrial quality upgrading with technological innovation and intelligent manufacturing; accelerating the transformation of digital intelligence by building a container digital factory and an iFlorens digital operation platform; accurately responding to and serve the needs of customers by expanding customized products; and solidly expanding a new green and low-carbon road with specific action paths of “green financing, green assets, green business, and green factories”.

In the future, COSCO SHIPPING Development will continue to follow the new trend of the green, low-carbon and smart shipping industry development, accelerate the cultivation of new quality productivity, and bring forth strong impetus to promote high-quality development. At the same time, the Company is committed to promoting the electric vessel project to Bohai Gulf and other domestic inland waterways and coastal waters, so as to contribute to the green transformation and upgrading of China’s inland waterways and coastal shipping industry.
