Recently, the land-based commissioning of the power system of 700TEU electric container vessel, the first vessel developed by COSCO Shipping Development to operate on Yangtze River mainline, was successfully completed at Qingdao Branch of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation No.712 Institute. The land-based commissioning is an important way to test the functions of 700TEU electric vessel power system such as manual/automatic startup/stop, operation and security, and it is a key part of reliability inspection and commissioning of the power system.
On March 7, the first and second phases of the land-based commissioning was completed, during which the power system successfully underwent test items such as single input/manual parallel test including switch network cabinet, DC distribution board, and box power supply and other equipment, manual/remote control test of main thruster/side thruster, as well as the manual/automatic startup/stop of power system and operation test items and other tests. In the near future, the third phase of land-based commissioning will be commenced, followed by the installation and commissioning of power system on the vessel.
The 700TEU project is an important initiative of COSCO Shipping Development to create demonstration for green zero-carbon shipping. The two vessels of this series are the world's first large battery-powered vessels for long-distance transportation, and will be put into operation on the Yangtze River route to realize the green upgrade of the golden waterway. In the future, COSCO Shipping Development will continue to work together with industry chain partners, and deepen the integration of industry and finance to advance on the journey towards green and zero-carbon sustainable development. |
